Privacy policy
LeanFood is a mobile app that estimates calories and macros from meal photos. This page explains what we keep and why.
Data we collect
Email and an optional name for the account. Height, weight, age, sex, activity and pace for your targets. Meal logs, water, weigh-ins and progress photos. Meal photos you capture or pick for scanning. App language and a push token. Subscription status comes from the App Store or Google Play.
Photos and AI
Scanning sends the photo to our model to estimate a name, calories and macros. The photo may be stored with the meal. This is not a medical diagnosis; the numbers are estimates.
Health data
If you allow it, we read steps, workouts and active calories from Apple Health or Health Connect. You can revoke that in the OS. We do not use health data for ads.
Processors
Identity, meals and notifications live on our API. AI providers run analysis, RevenueCat / the stores handle payments, and PostHog may collect product analytics. Data may be processed in Europe or another region we operate in.
Retention and deletion
Meal and profile data stay while the account does. If you delete the account we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period. Store subscriptions must be cancelled in the App Store or Google Play separately.
